WEG is supplying 12 WEGscan100 smart sensors for a major reverse osmosis desalination plant located in Barbados. Each 600 HP motor at the facility will receive three sensors designed to monitor key variables essential to pump performance, including temperature, three-axis vibration, and magnetic field.

The data collected by the sensors is transmitted to the cloud via smartphone or Gateway, allowing real-time monitoring. Integrated with the WEG Motion Fleet Management (MFM) platform, the system enables advanced analysis by technicians and specialists, as well as the use of artificial intelligence for autonomous diagnostics, enhancing the reliability of predictive maintenance.

This supply marks WEG’s entry into the digitalization solutions segment in the monitoring market of Barbados, where there is still a low presence of such technology. For the company, it represents a step forward in its strategy to offer integrated, scalable solutions aligned with Industry 4.0.
