Contract incorporates digital solutions to enhance service levels and infrastructure improvements for the future

The City of Mary Esther, Florida, awarded Jacobs a new five-year contract to continue providing operations, maintenance and management of its water and wastewater systems and customer service delivery, building on a 22-year relationship.

Under the new contract, Jacobs will implement a long-term asset management plan to meet the Florida Rural Water Association’s Asset Management and Fiscal Responsibility Plan. Additional scope includes:

Inventory management and tracking of the city’s collection and distribution stock materials;
Integration of the city’s distribution and collection system assets into Jacobs’ computerized maintenance management system; and
Use of our digital technologies like Dragonfly to identify and address collection system deficiencies and maintain utility assets for long-term sustainability.
“With over 80 years of combined staff experience and two decades of collaboration, we understand the city’s challenges and goals for resiliency,” says Executive Director of Operations Kevin Dahl. “Our technologies, paired with long-term plant knowledge, will help us continuously improve service and the quality of life for residents.”

Since 2003, Jacobs has maintained the quality and reliability of the city’s water and wastewater systems. The team has utilized in-house resources for engineering, maintenance, safety and regulatory compliance to deliver cost savings, infrastructure improvements and responsive service.

A continued commitment to the community

Beyond caring for the facilities, we are an active member of the Mary Esther community — volunteering and supporting Toys for Tots, Trunk or Treat, the Veterans Day parade and more.

“Our team is firmly rooted in the community, which brings our purpose to life. We look forward to exploring new ways to make a positive impact for our neighbors and those we serve,” adds Kevin.

Jacobs provides water and wastewater services across the Sunshine State in DeFuniak Springs, Ponce De Leon, Quincy, Havana, Live Oak, Pembroke Pines, West Melbourne, Key West and The Villages.
