Sydney Water Breaks Ground on $2B Upper South Creek Program to Support Western Sydney’s Growth

October 31, 2025

Sydney Water has broken ground on the next major stage of our $2 billion+ Upper South Creek Networks Program – a vital step in delivering essential wastewater infrastructure to support Western Sydney’s rapid growth. 💧

The program will deliver over 115 km of pipelines, 11 pumping stations and supporting infrastructure across eight precincts, servicing more than 143,000 new homes and 466,000 jobs by 2056.

Our latest contract award to CreekConnect, a joint venture between Jacobs and Seymour Whyte, marks an exciting milestone in ensuring wastewater services keep pace with new housing, while protecting local waterways and delivering long-term value for our customers.

A recent smoking ceremony led by Dharug Elder Uncle Colin Locke acknowledged the cultural significance of the land as we move into this next phase of construction.

This milestone reflects what’s possible through collaboration across government, industry and community – delivering sustainable infrastructure for one of Sydney’s fastest-growing regions.
