Project Order: Cabo Verde SWRO with Kanadevia Corporation

March 22, 2026

Osmoflo is proud to announce that it has received a project order from its shareholder, Kanadevia Corporation, for the design and supply of equipment for two reverse osmosis (RO) seawater desalination plants in the Republic of Cabo Verde by China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), a Chinese engineering company.‍

The project, supporting the Water Supply Development Project of Santiago Island – Republic of Cabo Verde (hereinafter “Cabo Verde”) off the coast of West Africa, marks a major achievement for Osmoflo’s Pune-based office in India, which has been involved in the project dating back to 2017.

This project, financed through a loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), involves the construction of two separate seawater desalination plants on Santiago Island: one in Calheta (North) with a capacity of 5,000 m³/day, and another in Palmarejo (South) with a capacity of10,000 m³/day – with each potentially expandable up to an ultimate capacity of 20,000 m³/day . Toyota Tsusho Corporation (Toyota Tsusho) has been awarded the overall contract by Cabo Verde’s National Water and Sanitation Agency for the construction of desalination plants and water distribution networks, and CMEC has signed a Subcontract with Toyota Tsusho. Under this contract, Osmoflo will be responsible for the design and supply of all process equipment for the reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plants, working in collaboration with our shareholder, Kanadevia Corporation.

Upon completion, the two plants will be able to supply drinking and household water for approximately 300,000 people, based on the assumed average per-capita water consumption of 50 liters per day indicated in JICA’s ex-ante project evaluation, and servicing a substantially greater population when both plants are eventually expanded to their ultimate capacities.
