Osmoflo announce Investment and Partnership Agreement with Aqua Membranes

Osmoflo is pleased to announce a strategic investment and partnership with Aqua Membranes, a pioneering company specializing in innovative membrane technologies for water treatment.

Burton, South Australia and Albuquerque, New Mexico – Osmoflo, in consultation with shareholder Kanadevia Corporation, is pleased to announce a strategic investment and partnership with Aqua Membranes, a pioneering company specializing in innovative membrane technologies for water treatment. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in enhancing the future of sustainable water solutions, combining Osmoflo’s expertise in large-scale desalination infrastructure with Aqua Membranes’ 3D Printed Spacer Technology®.

The exclusive agreement will not only allow the continued development and optimisation of Osmoflo’s Reverse Osmosis solutions, but also the distribution of the membranes themselves across the Australian, New Zealand and Pacific markets. Aqua Membranes’ printed membrane technology fundamentally provides significantly improved performance via improving the flow of water through the element, resulting in a range of benefits from reduced energy consumption and reduced fouling through to higher recoveries and increased capacities. This technology replaces mesh spacers that have been used for decades, which will not only provide the commercial benefits through reduced OPEX, but also help clients meet ESG goals by reducing their environmental impact.

Neil Palmer, Osmoflo’s CTO, commented: “Aqua Membranes’ new approach to feed spacer technology is one of the most significant advances of RO technology since the development of thin film composite some 50 years ago.  We have tested the new membranes over a long period on challenging industrial water and the results have exceeded our expectations”.

Osmoflo CEO, Carmine Ciccocioppo, stated “We are excited by the opportunities that this exclusive partnership with AM and the use of their groundbreaking membrane product present for Osmoflo – indeed, we have already observed its impressive performance compared to conventional spiral wound membranes in several of our plants over the last 12-18 months. This partnership further enables us to deliver on our core mission of providing innovative, sustainable and value-based water solutions that contribute to a circular economy”

Aqua Membranes CEO Craig Beckman added, “We are thrilled to announce this investment and distribution agreement between Osmoflo and Aqua Membranes. Osmoflo is an exceptional company that shares our commitment to developing innovative solutions to address the ever-evolving water crisis. We look forward to collaborating with them to demonstrate the effectiveness of our Printed Spacer Technology®.”

The partnership comes at a critical time, as demand for innovative water solutions continues to rise globally due to the effects of climate change, urbanization, and water scarcity. With this collaboration, Osmoflo and Aqua Membranes are poised to drive the next wave of innovation in the water industry, providing more reliable and sustainable water sources to communities and industries around the world.
