Osmoflo and CERAFILTEC Expand Partnership Agreement

May 15, 2025

Osmoflo Water Management and CERAFILTEC Germany GmbH are pleased to announce that they have expanded their partnership into an exclusive agreement covering Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region.

Burton, South Australia and Saarbrücken, Germany – This agreement leverages CERAFILTEC’s technology and expertise in ceramic membrane solutions, along with Osmoflo’s strong reputation, experience, and regional relationships. It enables Osmoflo to integrate CERAFILTEC’s advanced ceramic products into its water treatment systems across the region, delivering robust and reliable filtration solutions for end-users and integrators across water, wastewater, and desalination projects, including new builds, replacements, and retrofits.

The collaboration also focuses on driving upgrades to ceramic membranes for Membrane BioReactors (MBRs) and drinking water plants, as well as tertiary water treatment for reuse applications. The adoption of ceramic membranes in MBRs continues to grow due to their superior reliability, durability, and efficiency, particularly in demanding industrial and reuse environments.

As part of this effort, Osmoflo will showcase CERAFILTEC’s technology at Ozwater 2025. Kay Gunther Gabriel, founder of CERAFILTEC, will join Osmoflo colleagues at Booth #E05, where both companies will present a demonstration ceramic membrane unit and highlight CERAFILTEC’s state-of-the-art solutions. Ozwater, Australia’s premier water exhibition and conference, takes place 20-22nd May at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Osmoflo’s General Manager of Strategic Growth, Scott Chalmers, said, “We look forward to incorporating Cerafiltec’s state of the art ceramic membranes into our Cerflo range of solutions to provide our clients with options to help decarbonize water treatment infrastructure and meet their sustainability goals. These advanced membranes set a new benchmark, and are a key technology for use in drinking water plant upgrades, desalination plants, PFW and industrial water treatment solutions.”

“We look forward to working closely with Osmoflo to drive greater customer value in a market that recognises sustainable and reliable solutions,” commented Torsten Wintergerste who joined CERAFILTEC last year as CEO, previously President of Sulzer Chemtech, a global division of the Sulzer corporation headquartered in Switzerland. “Ceramic membranes are recognized for their robustness and reliability, setting a new industry standard. Their advanced technology, with exceptional chemical resistance, offers significant operating flexibility. High tolerance to TSS, oil, and temperature provides treatment options even for challenging feedwaters, while a long lifespan ensures superior total cost of ownership for plant owners and operators.”
