The company has measured its carbon footprint and offset part os its emissions through the Fontefría reforestarion project in Ourense

Madrid, 24 March 2026. Lantania has obtained the ‘Calculo y Reduzco’ (Calculate and Reduce) seal, awarded by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITERD) through the Spanish Office for Climate Change. This certification confirms the calculation of its carbon footprint for the 2024 financial year, the most recent period verified, as well as the voluntary offsetting of part of its emissions through verified environmental projects. This initiative forms part of the Group’s 2025–2028 Emissions Reduction and Offset Plan, which sets out concrete measures to reduce and offset the environmental impact of its activities.

The company has offset part of its emissions through the Fontefría carbon absorption project, a reforestation initiative located in the municipality of Castrelo do Val, in Ourense, and certified under MITERD standards. Launched in 2020, the project has a 35-year duration and is designed to absorb approximately 19,000 tonnes of CO₂ over its lifetime.

The project is being implemented on land affected by forest fires, through a multi-species reforestation approach adapted to the Galician Atlantic forest. It includes a two-phase plan based on the planting of fir trees and shrub vegetation, supporting the gradual regeneration of the ecosystem. In addition to its direct contribution to carbon absorption, the Fontefría project delivers significant environmental and social benefits, including the restoration of degraded soils, the creation of new forest areas, and the protection of landscapes and biodiversity. It also supports rural development, promotes local employment and strengthens the social fabric of the surrounding area.

This recognition forms part of Lantania’s sustainability strategy, which is focused on improving the measurement and management of the Group’s carbon footprint, reducing the environmental impact of its activities, and promoting a culture of shared responsibility across the organisation.
