Focus on Water Challenges
Water scarcity is no longer a future threat but a present reality. Southern Spain, particularly Andalusia, experiences drought cycles, placing unprecedented pressure on agriculture, communities, and ecosystems. New European Union regulations on water reuse, which provide a harmonized framework to encourage the safe and efficient use of reclaimed water, particularly in agriculture, have been adopted in this region. These new standards represent a critical step in addressing water scarcity and building resilience across southern Europe and are an example to be considered in other areas of the world.

The colloquium focuses on best practices for building resilient water solutions and innovative regulations.
