GS Inima Brasil, celebrates 30 years of Success and Transformation in Water Management

With roots in Ribeirão Preto, GS Inima Brasil celebrates three decades of activity in Brazil this year. From its pioneering beginnings in São Paulo to its current position as a leading company in the field of water management and sustainable sanitation, GS Inima Brasil has come to a long way.

The group’s journey began with the pioneering concession of of public basic sanitation services in Ribeirão Preto. In it was estimated that only 2% of wastewaterin the city. Three decades later, 100% of the wastewater collected in Ribeirão Preto’s urban area is treated a technological and social transformation driven by GS Inima Brasil.

National Operation, Global Experience

GS Inima Brasil’s growth, expansion, and solidity are supported by the international backing of its parent group, GS Inima Environment. A global leader in environmental solutions, the company has been in operation for 70 years and has completed over 200 water projects in 12 countries across 4 continents. The group is renowned for its ongoing investment in researching and developing the most advanced sanitation, water capture, treatment and distribution, desalination, water reuse, and effluent treatment technologies for industrial use. This global experience allows GS Inima Brasil to promote integrated and intelligent solutions for the Integral Water Cycle, including supply, collection and treatment, reuse, and desalination.

Impact and Vision for the Future

To mark it’s 30th anniversary, the company is celebrating the positive impact it hasgenerated with communities, the environment, and the country’s development.

The implementation of the Legal Framework for Sanitation in 2020 has been essential in driving the sector’s technological development in the sector. In line with this evolution, GS Inima Brasil is leading several strategic projects. One example is the recent award of Lot A for the concession of wastewater collection and treatment concession in Espírito Santo, which will require investments of around 1.08 billion Brazilian Reals and will directly benefit 35 municipalities, including the capital, Vitória. Another example isthe Hidrus Project in Ceará, which will supply the green hydrogen hub with recycled water, thereby contributing to the development of new sustainable energies.

As it reaches its 30th anniversary in 2025 GS Inima Brasil is reaffirming its leading role in turning basic sanitation into a strategic tool for improving people’s well-being, preserving the environmen and promoting the country’s social and economic development.
