Spain, March 03rd, 2026.

GS Inima Brazil, a leader in the Concessions, Industrial, and Services segments in the country, strengthens its presence in the state of São Paulo with the start of operations at Barrinha Saneamiento. Located in the Ribeirão Preto region, the municipality of Barrinha—locally known as the “Princess of the Mogi” due to its close ties to the Mogi Guaçu River—begins a new chapter in environmental management following the signing of the Service Order (OS) on March 2. This project takes on the challenge of modernizing water infrastructure that faced a critical need for renovation to cope with urban growth and ensure water security in a context where operational efficiency is essential to guarantee supply amid the variability of local sources.

The action plan, which involves an estimated investment of 44 million reais (equivalent to 7.6 million euros) during the first five-year period, has the central objective of transforming and modernizing local water infrastructure, benefiting a population of approximately 32,000 inhabitants.

Innovation and commitment to sustainability

The transformation plan for Barrinha Saneamiento is built on the pillars of operational efficiency and environmental respect, including:

  • Construction of collection networks, outfalls, and a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) that will allow for the treatment of 100% of the sewage collected in the city.
  • Modernization and maintenance of 18 wells to guarantee supply quality.
  • Optimization of water pumping stations to minimize supply interruptions.
  • Universalization of sanitation services projected by the end of 2030.

The management of Barrinha Saneamiento will also generate a positive impact on the local economy with the creation of more than 30 direct jobs.

Barrinha is moving toward the future and the universalization of sanitation. With this partnership, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring quality water and proper wastewater treatment, promoting sustainable development and strengthening water security for the entire population” Paulo Roberto de Oliveira, CEO de GS Inima Brazil.

With this new project, GS Inima Brazil applies its management model based on operational efficiency, technological innovation, and social commitment, consolidating its position as a key player in the sanitation sector and the preservation of natural resources in Brazil.
