GAS LAB Asia and Evo Energy Technologies sign strategic alliance to fast-track industrial carbon capture across Australia and New Zealand

July 22, 2025

Melbourne, Australia | 22 July 2025 – GAS LAB Asia, India’s pioneer in modular, skid-mounted carbon-capture systems, has entered a strategic collaboration agreement with Evo Energy Technologies Pty Ltd, a 100 % Australian-owned decarbonisation specialist headquartered in Brisbane. The agreement was formalized on July 17, 2025, during the Carbon Capture APAC Summit 2025 held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), marking a major step toward large-scale rollout of cost-effective carbon-capture, recovery and utilisation (CCUS) projects across Australia and New Zealand.

The alliance combines GAS LAB’s six-decade heritage in CO₂ separation with Evo Energy’s local engineering and project-delivery expertise. Early targets include cement, steel, energy-from-waste, oil & gas and power generation, as well as capture of biogenic CO₂ from biomass and biogas plants.

This collaboration is a mission-driven bridge between Indian ingenuity and Australian ambition,” said Keshav Goela, Director – GAS LAB Asia. “By pairing our signature carbon-capture know-how—refined through global projects—with Evo Energy’s on-ground capabilities, we will help Australian industry capture and reuse CO₂ at scale instead of emitting it.”

GAS LAB’s plug-and-play capture skids integrate with direct utilisation pathways that require no green hydrogen—from agriculture (CO₂-enriched crop growth) and water-treatment remineralisation to food-and-beverage processing and dry-ice manufacture—delivering cash-positive carbon use from day one. These fast-payback outlets will be prioritised while green-hydrogen capacity scales; in parallel, the partners will ready captured (especially biogenic) CO₂ for emerging e-methanol and sustainable aviation-fuel (SAF) chains aimed at decarbonising shipping and aviation.

Partnering with GAS LAB Asia lets us extend our advanced cogeneration, heat-recovery and biogas portfolio to include proven carbon-capture technology,” said Travis McNeil, Chief Executive Officer, Evo Energy Technologies. “Together we can offer Australian clients a one-stop route to slash emissions in hard-to-abate sectors while strengthening domestic supply chains and jobs.”

The collaboration will launch demonstration plants and then scale deployments nationwide, directly supporting Australia’s net-zero goals and fostering regional CCUS cooperation.
