ACCIONA achieves the highest score for water security and climate change from CDP

ACCIONA ENERGÍA. The renewables subsidiary is also in the A List for the ‘Climate Change’ category.

ACCIONA has been recognized by CDP, a leading organization in corporate climate information analysis, for its work to mitigate climate change and its water management strategy. The company has been included in the A List for the 2024 Climate Change and Water Security assessments. At the same time, ACCIONA Energía has also been included in the Climate Change A List.

Being part of the Climate Change A List highlights the excellence of ACCIONA and ACCIONA Energía in their climate action strategies, their alignment with a low-carbon economy, and their pathway to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The rating considers the quality of the company’s public information, its environmental leadership, and best practices in climate strategy and action, including with science-based targets.

ACCIONA is also listed in the A List for Water Security, recognizing the company’s contribution to the protection of water resources through its business model, circularity strategy, and water consumption efficiency policies.

CDP’s recognition reaffirms ACCIONA and ACCIONA Energía’s leadership in sustainability indices. ACCIONA has been included in the 2025 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations index by Corporate Knights and is named in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index (DJSI Europe) as the most sustainable electric utility in the world.

ACCIONA Energía has recently been included in Sustainalytics’ top ESG-rated companies, recognizing it as the Spanish power utility that best manages its environmental, social, and governance risks, and one of the best in the sector worldwide.
