June 1, 2026

  • Secures contracts to upgrade the wastewater treatment plants at the Fadiplait facility in Hammadi and the Afia Savola plant in Oran
  • The company is participating in the 21st edition of SIEE Pollutec, held from 1 to 4 June in Algiers

Madrid, 1 June, 2026. Lantania is strengthening its international activity with the award of two new contracts in Algeria. The infrastructure, water and energy group will carry out upgrade works at the wastewater treatment plants of the dairy producer Fadiplait and the edible oil company Afia Savola, with a 24-month execution period in both cases.

The contract awarded by Fadiplait covers the expansion of the wastewater treatment plant serving the company’s facility in the Wilaya of Boumerdès, Hammadi Commune, near Algiers. The scope of works includes the implementation of a physicochemical flotation treatment process, as well as the associated sludge line for sludge handling, to predefine the biological treatment planned in the next expansion phase. The installation is designed to treat a flow of 75 m³/day.

Fadiplait is one of the leading companies in the cheese manufacturing market in Algeria, with brands such as El Moutamayez, Ryco and Selection.

Meanwhile, Afia Savola has awarded Lantania the comprehensive refurbishment of the wastewater treatment plant at its facility in Oran, with a capacity to treat 480 m³/day of industrial wastewater. The project will be carried out while the plant remains in operation and includes a full treatment process comprising grease removal, equalisation, pH control, physicochemical primary treatment by flotation, and a sludge dewatering line. Once completed and commissioned, the plant will enable the collection of key operational data for the future implementation of a second biological treatment phase.

As a vegetable oil brand belonging to the Saudi group Savola Group, one of the leading companies in the agri-food sector in the Middle East.

With these two new contracts, Lantania reaches 12 projects in Algeria since 2023. The company thus consolidates its position in the international industrial water treatment market, strengthening its presence in North Africa and its ability to deliver highly complex technical solutions adapted to demanding industrial environments.

Lantania is present at the 21st edition of SIEE Pollutec, held from 1 to 4 June in Algiers with its own stand. This event, a benchmark for professionals in the water and environment sector in Africa, brings together experts and suppliers to share solutions and technologies in infrastructure and sustainability.
