Belgicast Contributes to the Amer WWTP and Main Sewer Project with High-Reliability Water Infrastructure

January 23, 2026

Belgicast has taken part in the construction project for the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and main sewer line in Amer (Girona, Spain)—a key infrastructure for improving the municipality’s sanitation system and protecting the environment.

As part of this initiative, Belgicast supplied a range of solutions for wastewater treatment facilities, including polymeric air valves for wastewater, butterfly valves, gate valves, ball check valves, and dismantling joints. All components were designed to ensure reliability, durability, and optimal performance under demanding operating conditions.

The project represents a significant upgrade to Amer’s sanitation system, equipping the municipality with a biological treatment plant capable of efficiently processing the wastewater generated in the area. The contract also includes the construction of a main sewer network and an associated pumping station, aligned with the Catalan administration’s goals of sustainability and environmental protection.

Promoted by the Catalan Water Agency (ACA), the project includes the construction of a new biological treatment plant and all necessary infrastructure to ensure the efficient and sustainable management of urban wastewater.

Commitment and Collaboration
Belgicast would like to thank the Transparenta – Calaf joint venture (UTE) for the trust placed in our company, as well as all the teams involved in the development of the project. We remain committed to delivering value, reliability, and technical excellence in initiatives where efficient water management is key to the sustainable development of our communities.
