Hitachi High-Tech Earns the Top 5% Gold Rating for Sustainability from EcoVadis

Hitachi High-Tech Corporation (“Hitachi High-Tech”) has achieved its first ever Gold Rating for sustainability by EcoVadis, an international ratings organization headquartered in France, placing it in the top 5% of companies evaluated.

Hitachi High-Tech was recognized for its sustainability initiatives across the entire value chain, through thoroughly implementing responsible business activities for the local community and the global environment such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, addressing labor and human rights, and complying with corporate ethics.

EcoVadis evaluates the sustainability performance of more than 150,000 organizations across 250 industries and 185 countries in order to increase the sustainability and transparency of businesses. This assessment is based on international sustainability standards and uses EcoVadis’ own assessment criteria across the four areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. In each area, EcoVadis provides a comprehensive evaluation of sustainability efforts based on the three management pillars of Policies, Actions and Results.

Hitachi High-Tech will continue to take into consideration various societal demands, including respect for the environment and international rules. We will aim to solve social issues and contribute to building a sustainable society across the entire value chain by building collaborative relationships with our stakeholders, including customers and partners(suppliers).
